About Us
**ABBEY CHEAM CENTRE IS CURRENTLY CLOSED**
A fire earlier this year has led to the closure of the Abbey
Cheam Centre. All residents were safely evacuated from the home and
transferred to our sister care homes in Wallington and
Banstead.
After careful consideration, and due to the extensive damage
caused by the fire, we now have new proposals to re-build the
home.
Further updates on the plans will be posted as we progress.
---------------------
Abbey Cheam Centre is situated on The Avenue, a quiet and
pleasant high quality residential area of Cheam, providing our
residents with high standards of comfort in pleasing
surroundings.
You are sure of a warm welcome at the Abbey Cheam Centre; the
welfare and happiness of our residents, and the peace of mind of
their families, is our greatest concern.
We specialise in intermediate care. Intermediate care
helps to prevent a hospital admission to, and to
facilitate a timely discharge from, an acute hospital bed. We
work in partnership with the Sutton and Merton Clinical Commissiong
Groups, which commission health in the two boroughs on behalf of
local residents.
Individual nursing care is based upon the changing needs of each
resident and emphasis is placed upon a holistic approach to care
planning.
All our residents are encouraged to maintain an optimum level of
independence within their capabilities. Emotional and spiritual
needs are respected.
Our aim is to give those who live at the Abbey Cheam Centre the
best possible quality of life.
Residents are given choices about the way their care is
provided. They are encouraged to express their preferences which
are always respected.
Relatives and friends are welcome to visit at any time of the
day.
At Abbey Cheam Centre we offer care to suit individual needs:
long-term care for those who need daily specialist nursing dementia
care.
Abbey Cheam Centre is recommended on carehome.co.uk, where it
was awarded 15th best recommended home in London (where there are
1,636 care homes).
